Accelerating Action: Pro AV Solutions Marks International Women’s Day 2025

International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated globally on 8 March, is an important occasion to recognise the achievements of women and to shine a spotlight on the actions needed to accelerate gender equality. The 2025 theme, “Accelerate Action”, calls on individuals, businesses, and industries to move beyond good intentions and take real, measurable steps towards a more equitable future.
At Pro AV Solutions, we’re proud to support this year’s theme and reaffirm our ongoing commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion — not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
Why Accelerating Action Matters
According to the latest Global Gender Gap Report from the World Economic Forum, at the current pace, full gender parity won’t be reached until 2158 — more than five generations from now. In industries like AV integration, where women have historically been underrepresented, accelerating action is essential to ensure our industry attracts and retains the best talent, fosters innovation, and reflects the diversity of the clients and communities we serve.
Women working in AV often face challenges that range from unconscious bias to limited access to mentorship, sponsorship, and leadership opportunities. Organisations like Women in AV Australia and AVIXA’s Women’s Council have been instrumental in driving change. These organisations connect, support and advocate for women in AV, while also encouraging businesses to implement policies and programs that promote diversity and inclusion across all levels.
Our Commitment to Progress
At Pro AV Solutions, we understand that true progress requires deliberate action. We continue to review and refine our recruitment processes to ensure they’re inclusive, transparent, and free from bias — from the way job ads are written to how we interview and assess candidates. Workplace flexibility, equal pay, and career progression opportunities are key pillars of our approach to creating a fairer and more inclusive environment.
Supporting women’s career development is also a priority. We offer structured mentoring programs, leadership development opportunities, and clear pathways for women to advance into leadership and technical roles. By partnering with AVIXA, our team members have access to industry-wide networks and learning opportunities designed to support their professional growth.
Building an inclusive workplace culture is just as important as providing opportunities. Across our teams, we encourage open conversations about diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Every voice matters, and we actively seek feedback to ensure our initiatives reflect the real experiences and needs of our people.
My career began with Pro AV Solutions in 1987, a time when diversity, particularly gender diversity, was scarcely represented in our industry. Back then, seeing women in leadership roles or even within certain technical fields was uncommon. But throughout my career, I’ve been consistently inspired by the incredible role models and mentors who have supported me and so many others. These individuals demonstrated that real change starts with belief, action, and a shared sense of responsibility.

Collaboration Across the Industry
We know that creating a more inclusive AV industry requires collective action. That’s why we proudly support Women in AV Australia, AVIXA’s Women’s Council, and other industry initiatives that champion diversity and inclusion. Through these partnerships, we not only advocate for positive change across the industry but also provide platforms for our own talented women to share their stories, mentor others, and help inspire the next generation.
Through our work with The Institute of AV Technology, we also support outreach programs that introduce young women to careers in AV, showcasing the wide range of opportunities across design, technology, engineering, project management, and leadership.
At Pro AV Solutions, we believe that progress happens when we take deliberate action, whether it’s advocating for equal opportunities, breaking down barriers, or creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. Each of us has a role to play in driving this change. Thank you to all the women who inspire, lead, and drive change every day. Together, let’s accelerate action and create lasting impact.

Leadership Accountability
None of this progress happens without leadership support. At Pro AV Solutions, diversity and inclusion are embedded in our culture — and our leaders are accountable for making sure these values guide how we recruit, develop, and engage our people. It’s not about box-ticking; it’s about ensuring equity is part of every decision we make, and that everyone, regardless of gender, can succeed in our workplace.
Today, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, I reflect on how far we’ve come and the limitless potential ahead. Together, we have the power to shape the future of our industry as one that reflects the full spectrum of talent, innovation, and possibility. And together, we’ll keep building spaces where the next generation feels empowered to contribute, to lead, and to drive meaningful change.
Progress on crucial issues like diversity, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship is a continuous responsibility. These are not challenges we solve and set aside—they are commitments we carry forward. It’s through this shared pursuit that we ensure everyone, regardless of gender, background, or perspective, feels seen, heard, valued, and respected.

At Pro AV Solutions, we remain committed to playing our part in accelerating action, building a workplace that values and thrives on diversity, and supporting broader industry change.
